Donald Judd’s Magazine Spread8x10inch

In this project, my main objective was to capture Donald Judd’s minimalist art style while ensuring a captivating visual experience. Crafting the viewer's journey in reverse was key to achieving this goal, echoing the simplicity and allure intrinsic to minimalism, thus encouraging deeper exploration.

Initially adhering to a monochromatic palette akin to Judd's preference for 2-3 colors, I later introduced additional hues following feedback from a critique session to enhance visual appeal. The inclusion of pull quotes added layers of interest and depth. Subsequent iterations saw the introduction of framing lines, echoing Judd’s distinct forms, alongside experimentation with an 8x6 grid, which provided a sturdy foundation for creative exploration while upholding the essence of Judd’s minimalist principles.
